The 12 Sacred Jyotirlingas
"Jyoti" means 'light' and "Linga" the 'sign' of Shiva. These twelve shrines are the most auspicious manifestations of Mahadev on Earth.
"By merely uttering the name of these twelve Jyotirlingas, one is freed from all sins."
Visiting these shrines is considered highly meritorious. They are strategically located across the Indian subcontinent, from the snow-capped Himalayas in the North to the shores of the Indian Ocean in the South.
